You know that feeling when a friend says, "I'm leaving, but I'll give you a gift you'll never forget"?

That's exactly what AC Schnitzer looks like right now. The legendary German tuning house is bowing out — and leaving behind an 810‑hp monster based on the BMW M5 Touring (G99).

Yes, you read that right. The stock car already has 727 hp. But apparently, that wasn't enough. The engineers looked at those modest 727 horses, sighed, and added 83 more. Because a goodbye should be loud.

According to Bimmertoday (April 30, 2026), this is one of the final projects from AC Schnitzer. The market is changing, the ICE era is winding down, but in Aachen they decided: we won't leave with a whimper — we'll leave with a V8 roar.

Numbers don't lie (and neither do we)

The stock BMW M5 Touring G99 produces 727 hp and 1,000 Nm from its hybrid setup (V8 + electric motor). AC Schnitzer did something very proper, very German: they left the electric part untouched. Completely.

All the extra power comes from the 8‑cylinder engine. Final result: 810 hp and 1,100 Nm of torque. The electric motor stays as is — now it's just happy to play second fiddle.

CEO take: An 810‑hp wagon is like a Swiss Army knife that also shoots fire. Why? Because it can.

Wheels you'll want to stare at

The car rides on new 21‑inch AC6 forged wheels with five Y‑spokes. They show off the M5's massive brakes without any shame — because there's nothing to hide.

Tires: 285 in the front, 295 in the rear. They could have gone wider, but AC Schnitzer are adults. Excessive oversteer isn't on their wishlist.

Lower, stiffer, meaner

Springs drop the car by 20 mm both front and rear. No air‑ride circus, no "let's slam it 100 mm". Just an honest two centimeters down. Classic German school — zero posing.

An exhaust your neighbors will hate

The rear silencer is stainless steel. Four 110 mm tailpipes with carbon trim. Your neighbors will hate you. But you'll be smiling.

Aero for people who know

The body kit isn't just for looks (though it works for that too):

  • front splitter,
  • side "winglets" (canards),
  • side skirts,
  • diffuser insert,
  • roof spoiler.

Together, they press the car into the asphalt so hard that even on 295‑section tires, lifting off the steering wheel feels like a bad idea.

Why we're posting this (short version)

Because AC Schnitzer is part of automotive history. They never did "laptop tuning in a garage". They built real machines. And if this is their farewell, then this wagon is their autograph.

This article is based on the official AC Schnitzer press release and Bimmertoday's coverage from April 30, 2026. Facts are checked. Emotions are ours.

P.S. If you own an M5 Touring and now want the same package — hurry up. The number of kits is limited. And yes, your BMW warranty will probably say goodbye even earlier than AC Schnitzer does.
