BMW M Hybrid V8 Is Coming to Gran Turismo 7 in June 2026

BMW fans, get ready — the legendary BMW M Hybrid V8 hypercar will be added to Gran Turismo 7 as part of a free update in June 2026. The news has been officially confirmed by Polyphony Digital.

This is the real LMDh racing prototype that BMW currently runs in the FIA WEC and IMSA championships. It competes in the world’s toughest endurance races, including the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Interestingly, Gran Turismo 7 will receive the original version of the BMW M Hybrid V8 — not the updated 2026-spec model. The newer car features revised aerodynamics, a smaller kidney grille, and redesigned front-end elements.

The June update will also add several other modern endurance racers:

• Ferrari 499P
• Porsche 963
• Peugeot 9X8
• and as a nice bonus — the Porsche 911 Turbo S Safety Car

Under the hood, the BMW M Hybrid V8 uses a hybrid powertrain with a turbocharged V8 engine. The car was developed together with Dallara specifically for modern LMDh endurance racing. It debuted in 2023 and marked BMW's return to top‑class prototype racing for the first time since the legendary BMW V12 LMR.
